In this workshop, you will be simulating the life of an impoverished family of 7 in rural Vietnam.

You are tasked to make life decisions that will affect your family and your children’s education. Your goal is to send all your children to school while maintaining an acceptable standard of living. The situation is as follows:

Youngest child is 3 years old, 2 children in elementary school, 2 children in high school

On average you earn $9.25 CAD a day (≈ 165,000 VND) ⇒ 5,000,000 VND/month (CAD $277/month)

You want your children to be as successful as possible in the future so they may escape the impoverished life. You understand that education is important in allowing this change. You want to put your kids through school but you also have to put food on the table. You must make some difficult choices as unexpected situations arise in your everyday life.
